Hey there! I’m John Greco, founder and owner of GW Pens. My company started out as Greco Woodcrafting back in 2008, with a strict focus on pens in 2011. After a couple of years of people asking if I make cabinets or furniture when I told them the name of my company I decided it was time to be a bit more specific. And so Greco Woodcrafting became GW Pens.
I won’t get into the finished pens I offer too much here (though I’m sure new designs that I’m particularly proud of will make their way into the blog). This is really a place for me to show what goes on when I’m working on pens in my studio in Pitman, NJ. It might be the design, setting up the tooling, or even some of the pitfalls I ran into along the way.
I love to “talk shop”. I first started working with my hands when I learned how to use an oxy-acetylene torch at age 12, then went on to take years of wood shop and metal shop. If there is a way to work wood, metal, or plastic I’ve done it. That’s not to say I’m proficient with every tool out there, but I at least know enough to be dangerous 🙂 Thanks for reading, and I hope to hear from you in the comments.
